WPR Launches Graduate Pathfinder Series
Integrated agency WPR has launched a programme of webinars designed to help undergraduates and recent graduates aspiring to a career in communications.
Taking place weekly during November 2021, the Graduate Pathfinder Series will combine insight with practical advice to guide young people through the raft of disciplines within this fascinatingly varied industry.
Named a Sunday Times Best Small Company to Work For in 2020, the Birmingham PR agency has long been committed to recruiting, developing and retaining the brightest talent. Almost half of the current workforce (48%) joined WPR as graduates or account executives, including both managing director Jane Ainsworth and client experience director Jo McCarthy.
Rebecca Williams, WPR’s director with responsibility for people, said: “We love what we do and are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to join our industry. For students and graduates who are just starting out, knowing whether PR, social media or digital marketing will be the path that excites and inspires them can be confusing. The Graduate Pathfinder webinars will demystify the process, explaining what different roles really involve and covering topics such as how to secure work experience and what graduates should be looking for from an employer.”
Beginning on Monday 1 November with A Career in Communications: How to Narrow It Down, the series continues with sessions including How to Get a Job in PR and What to Expect From a Career in Social Media.
This webinar series builds on the highly successful Pandemic Pathfinder series run by WPR for marketing, PR, comms and sales teams in 2020.
